Operation Christmas child

packing party

lifebridge christian church

Every year, we partner with Samaritan's Purse and their Operation Christmas Child program.

We start collecting items in September, and have a collection area where we ask people to bring specific items each week. This is all leading up to our PACKING PARTY, which is an exciting day when our LifeKids (Children's Ministry at LifeBridge) come together with the offerings they have collecting all year during Sunday Funday, and we pack special shoeboxes with all the things that have been brought as gifts from September through November.

Being a part of Operation Christmas Child connects us and our LifeKids children to the global need for people to have a chance to know Jesus Christ.

There are many ways you can get involved in the activities leading up to the Packing Party.

How can i get involved?

  • Follow our collection schedule and start shopping for items weekly that you can bring to our collection area. We will post in our bulletin each week what items we are asking you to bring the following week. Whether you can give a little or alot is not the importance...this year we are stressing that we want to make sure each shoebox is very special for the child that receives it. What that means is we would rather see a person bring one quality item, rather than 5 items that are of poor quality. This might be the only gift this child has ever received...we want them to feel the love of Christ as they realize that God's family around the world sent them this gift in love for Christ, especially for them.
  • Perhaps you don't have time or don't want to go shopping. We have some items that we are ordering in a larger quantity so that we can get these "wow" items at a good price, and be able to send some of these special items to the children. If you would like to contribute to one of these "wow" items, stop at the Operation Christmas Child table in the LifeBridge lobby starting on September 22, 2019. Make your contribution there.
  • Each shoebox has to be accompanied with a $9 donation, in order to help with the cost of getting these boxes to the many remote locations they travel to. If you would like to contribute towards sending a box, go to the "Make a Donation" box below and indicate "Operation Christmas Child" when you make your gift.
  • Be at our Packing Party on November 24th!
